(Oct 28: Uh what the hell I wanted to write a journal about how my PC is currently unstable and I dunno if it'll live BUT THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED WHAT THE HELL IS STA.SH WHAT IS THIS HAGDHGFGVSFJBKSJHSAHG)

Nov 5: So, uh, it started with it rebooting itself and ticking as it tried to boot. It doesn't seem to be the fan because the PC is having trouble starting up. Defragmenting seems to have helped somewhat but it still force-restarts after a few hours. And ticks. Just now it also had another scary sound... If I were to describe it, it sounded like a tennis ball being deflected by a racket and bouncing around somewhere.

I read it means my hard drive's dying slowly. I can afford a new one if I wait for some alimony. The real issue would be the process of replacing it... and getting my files on it. I don't know what I'm expecting. I guess I'm just mostly letting you know.

MAYBE a friend or a friend's friend will save me ;w;

Nov 11: It's not ticking. Um... Ok. It'll probably go boom at some point like when I'm drawing but whatevs. I got my files all stored up n shit so I'm ok with that. Gonna try and I dunno. Beat Final Fantasy X-2 or somethin.
  • Mood: Nervous
  • Listening to: ticking

You should try tp put everything you need in a USB key or on dvd's depending on what you have for backup! I had to replace my hard drive on my old computer and tbh, even if you defragmentate your disk, to some point, it won't change anything (the more you use it I mean)...So the faster you change it, the better it is! And I suggess if you want to spare the computer for the time being, use it really when necessary!

Oh! Right! I forgot about DVDs! I'll back all I can on any I can find.

I refuse to spare it xD Especially if and when I back everything up, I'll use it to its grave :'D

:D That's the spirit! Like you say, when everything is saved, you can use it until it's soul rips from it LOL ( if I can say that) Im sure you can find a not to expensive hard drive somewhere and if someone you know or even yourself can replace it, it costs you less :D

Right now it's doing ok. Maybe cuz it's cold. But yeah. Ticks when it gets overworked so it'll prolly live a month or two longer (?)

Yeah, working in a cold room with a computer helps a lot ^^ Maybe run a thing or two at the same time only, it could help :O I remember when I used to have my old PC, I could run Photoshop properly only when nothing else was running...was kinda annoying, but meh you live to deal with it ^^

Don't ignore your harddrive if it's ticking... Get everything that you can off it before it goes.
I say you have about a span of five days to a couple months before it completely dies, but don't quote me on this. Mine in my old desktop lasted about a month before it just stopped working after it started clicking.

Is it a desktop or a laptop?

I'm not ignoring it. It reminds of itself very clearly when it suddenly stops and restarts |D;;

A desktop.
